Mike Huot *

Mike Huot is using his formidable skills as a lawyer and advocate to get the best possible results for each and every one of his clients at KazLaw. Mike has over 20 years of experience as a respected litigator working on some of the most demanding cases in B.C. He is known for consistently obtaining excellent results in the courtroom.

At KazLaw, Mike brings his knowledge of the legal system, courtroom experience, negotiating skills, tenacity, and passion for advocacy to every case. His dedication, experience, and stellar reputation in the trial courts of British Columbia ensure his clients recover the maximum possible compensation for their injuries and are prepared to meet the challenges down the road. He prides himself on sticking up for vulnerable clients at the very time they need strong advocacy the most.

Prior to joining Kazlaw Mike worked as a Crown Prosecutor with the Special Prosecutions Unit, handling complex cases requiring special care and attention. Notably, Mike was a lead counsel for the team that successfully conducted the challenging criminal negligence prosecution in the Queen of the North B.C. Ferries case.

He has extensive experience working on all manner of complex, lengthy, and challenging trials. He has given numerous lectures on courtroom advocacy at education seminars and legal conferences.

Born and raised in North Vancouver, Mike grew up playing hockey and basketball. He is an outdoor enthusiast and enjoys hiking, cycling, and snowboarding. A big believer in community and organizations that support our city’s youth, Mike is currently a director of the Hooplaw Charity Basketball tournament, which currently raises funds for Night Hoops and the Children’s Hearing and Speech Centre of B.C.
