Pololos v. Cinnamon-Lopez, 2016. Vancouver Registry.
Mr. Pololos was involved in a rear end collision and suffered soft tissue injuries, chronic pain, and psychological trauma that impacted on all aspects of his functioning.
ICBC denied that Mr. Pololos suffered significant injuries (physical or psychological) and denied that there was any ongoing disability. KazLaw took over Mr. Pololos’ claim from another law firm that recommended a settlement with ICBC for less than $100,000.
At trial, the learned judge awarded $798,303 plus tax gross up, management fees, and costs for a total award exceeding $1,000,000. The trial award greatly exceeded the amount offered by ICBC and the settlement recommended by the other law firm.
This case highlights the importance of having a law firm that is willing to fight for their clients!
