KazLaw in Your Community

We believe that our commitment to community makes us a stronger firm and allows us to better serve the needs of our clients. We care about the quality of life in our community and do our part to ensure the success and well-being of its’ individual members.

Here are just a few of the community events we’ve supported recently:

The Vancouver Sun Run

The Vancouver Sun Run promotes health, fitness, community spirit and amateur athletics. The Sun Run also supports children and family literacy through the Raise-A-Reader campaign, and has donated close to $2.385 million to important causes since 1985. The KazLaw team enjoyed the chance to participate and help raise funds last month. This year’s Sun Run charitable partners were BC Children’s Hospital, BC SPCA, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Dr. Peter AIDS Foundation, Ronald McDonald House of British Columbia and Free the Children.

Wheel2Heal

Wheel 2 Heal is a fun, challenging and unique bicycle ride through the Tri-Cities that raises money for Eagle Ridge Hospital Foundation. On average, 70% of the Hospital’s new equipment is purchased with funds raised through the Foundation. Our founding partner, Marc Kazimirski, is an avid cyclist and participated in this annual event, donating $1,000 to help ERHF meet their fundraising goals.

CLICK

Despite being named one of the world’s most livable cities, over half of the children living below the poverty line in British Columbia live in Metro Vancouver. This affects about 85,450 kids, according to Statistics Canada. CLICK (Contributing to Lives of Inner CIty Kids) is an organization that engages the community by raising funds to support programming and foster success for inner city kids. KazLaw’s Pauline Gardikiotis is a board member with CLICK, and recently supported Inner CIty Kids Week. We were also pleased to donate the Norco hybrid cycle we won for our Wheel2Heal participation to CLICK!

BC Bike Race

BC Bike Race is an International 7 day Mountain Bike Stage race from Victoria to Whistler. In 2016 BCBR will be celebrating its 10th year, hosting 600 participants from 36 different countries. This year, tickets sold out in 4.5 days for this very competitive event. Every year, we support a member of our community by providing his or her entry fee for the race through the KazLaw Community Mountain Biking Award. This year, Jessie McGarrigle, a strong advocate in the Nanaimo mountain biking community, is the recipient. We’re excited to cheer her on in July!

Stay tuned for more KazLaw news next week, and we wish you a happy and safe long weekend!
